Why weird festivals?
Britain has a peculiar talent for taking something completely normal — chasing, throwing, eating — and dialling it to eleven until it becomes utterly unhinged. This site is a love letter to that talent.
Every festival here is real. You can go to these things. People do — thousands of them, every year. The cheese rolling draws crowds of 15,000. The bog snorkelling has international competitors. The gurning championship has been running since 1267.
The Data
Currently 22 festivals across 8 regions and 5 categories. Each entry is hand-researched and hand-written — no AI scraping, no automated aggregation. If a festival is here, someone actually puts it on.
